Çocuk cinsel istismarının tanılama adli ve sosyal sürecinde pediatri hemşireleri

Abstract

AMAÇ: Çocuk cinsel istismarının tanılama, adli ve sosyal sürecinde sağlık bakım profesyonellerinin önemli sorumlulukları vardır. İstismar gerçekleştikten sonra çocukla karşılaşma olasılığı yüksek olan hekim, hemşire gibi sağlık çalışanlarının konu hakkındaki bilgi eksiklerinin belirlenmesi ve giderilmesi önemlidir.YÖNTEM: Araştırma çocuk cinsel istismarının tanılanması, adli ve sosyal süreç konularındaki bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla 206 pediatri hemşiresi ile tanımlayıcı kesitsel olarak yapılmıştır. Pediatric nurses in the judicial and social processes of diagnosis of child sexual abuse

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Healthcare professionals have important responsibilities in the judicial and social processes of diagnosis of child sexual abuse. It is important to determine the knowledge deficiencies of the doctors and nurses, who have a high probability of meeting with the child after sexual abuse, and to fill them in about this case. METHODS: This cross-sectional research was conducted with the purpose of determining the knowledge levels of healthcare professionals in the judicial and social processes of diagnosis of child sexual abuse. The data was collected using a form composed of fifty-two questions on 206 paediatric nurses. For the analysis of the data; percentage and Chi-Square tests were used. The significance was defined as p≤0.05.RESULTS: The nurses’ tendencies were found high on reporting sexual abuse, but knowledge levels were low on about the judicial and social processes. Age, working year and department, and education on this subject were found effective factors on increasing the knowledge levels. p
