Abstract

A sinkhole is a depression or hole in thick layers of limestone caused by some form of collapse which is facilitated by groundwater flow. Sinkholes are found worldwide. Sinkholes may occur due to natural causes beside they may also occur with the human-induced causes such as excessive consumption of the groundwater or engineering activities such as tunnels or underground constructions. In this article, it is presented a case which died after falling into a sinkhole that was opened suddenly in the pavement.
