A report on an interlaboratory survey on arsenic in urine is presented. The arsenic concentrations in the control specimens (synthetic urine) have been determined before as assigned values, and are independent from the survey. To determine these assigned values, preferentially qualified reference laboratories were selected. 46 laboratories in the F.R.G. participated in the survey; the analytical method used was atomic absorption spectrometry. The results arc discussed under statistical viewpoints and conclusions arc drawn for subsequent work in this area.
