TLC-Spectrophotometric Determination of Vasicine Alkaloid from Marketed Formulation of Adhatoda vasica nees
Abstract
Ayurvedic syrup preparations saId in the market do not mention the amount of active ingredient behaving therapeutic effect Such one preparation containing extract of Adulsa (Adhatada vasica) was analysed for alkaloid vasicine content. The present work deals with finding out the actual amount of active ingredient present therein by a TLC - spectrophotometric method. Literature survey does not reveal any work on such product.
