Abstract

A comprehensive review of modem forensic ballistics problems and methodologies to answer these, has been presented with special emphasis on energetics, threshold velocities, extreme effective range of shotgun missiles, trace elemental pattem of standardlhome made lead shot, gunshot residues, some instrumental methods used in their detection, and practical advantages of aqueous swabs to remove GSR's, etc., rı addition to pertinent aspects of operational firearms and ammunition identification.
