EŞCİNSEL ERKEKLERE YÖNELİK FİZİKSEL ŞİDDETİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma ile, erkek eşcinsellerin maruz kaldıkları fiziksel şiddetin sıklığını ve özelliklerini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, maruz kalınan fiziksel şiddetin derecesi, şiddeti uygulayan kişinin/kişilerin özellikleri, şiddetin gerçekleştiği mekanlar ve şiddet mağdurunun duygusal tepkileri sorgulanmıştır. Veriler, çalışmaya katılan 100 heteroseksüel ve 100 homoseksüel erkekten oluşan örneklemden toplanmıştır. Erkek eşcinsellerin heteroseksüellere oranla daha yüksek oranda fiziksel şiddete maruz kaldıkları ve yaşanan şiddetin derecesinin daha ağır olduğu varsayılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara bakıldığında, hem heteroseksüel hem de eşcinsel erkeklerin benzer oranlarda şiddete maruz kalmış oldukları ancak şiddeti uygulayanın özellikleri, şiddete maruz kalınan yaş dönemi, şiddetin gerçekleştiği mekan ve şiddetin derecesi gibi gruplar arası önemli farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Eşcinsel erkekler genellikle ağır derecede şiddete maruz kaldıklarını ve çoğunlukla şiddeti uygulayanın hiç tanımadıkları yabancılar olduğunu bildirirken, heteroseksüel erekekler şiddete genellikle aile içinde ve daha hafif derecede maruz kaldıklarını bildirmişlerdir.
