The Usage and Effectiveness of Hypnosis Applications on Medical Treatments

Öz

Hypnosis, a kind of complementary and alternative medical therapies, is useful for some cases when the modern medicine is inadequate, and also it is becoming more common day by day. Acceptance of the knowledge by passing the limits of the mind is provided by hypnosis. The benefits of hypnosis which has positive effects on anxiety, pain, behavioral and physiological parameters have been supported by different studies. If the number of studies on hypnosis increases, hypnosis could be an efficient and reliable method for the treatments of anxious and fearful patients, particularly children. The aims of this review are to update ongoing data from past to today about practice of hypnosis in dentistry to compose a background for the accurate and reliable applications, and to contribute to the literature

Tıbbi Tedavilerde Hipnoz Uygulamalarının Kullanımı ve Etkinliği

Öz

Tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tıbbi tedaviler arasında yer alan hipnoz, modern tıbbın yetersiz kaldığı bazı durumlarda bireylere fayda sağlamakta ve kullanımı gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Hipnoz ile bilinç ve bilinçaltı arasındaki sınır aşılarak bilginin kabul edilmesi sağlanmaktadır. Anksiyete, ağrı, davranışsal ve fizyolojik parametreler üzerinde önemli olumlu etkileri bulunan hipnozun faydaları çalışmalarla desteklenmiştir. Hipnoz uygulamaları konusunda yapılan çalışma sayısı arttıkça, kaygılı ve korkan özellikle çocuk hastaların tedavilerinde etkili ve güvenilir bir yöntem olabilecektir. Bu derlemede, son zamanlarda dişhekimliği alanında da sıklıkla başvurulan hipnoz uygulaması ile ilgili geçmişten günümüze bir güncelleme yaparak doğru ve güvenli uygulamalar için bir zemin oluşturmak ve literatüre katkı yapmak amaçlanmıştır
