Bu çalışmada, yeni bir metakrilamit monomeri olan, N-[2-(4-brombenzoil)-benzofuran-3-il]-2-metakrilamit (NBBM), (3-Amino-benzofuran-2-il)-(4-bromofenil)metanon (bu bileşik 2-Siyanofenol ile 2,4-dibromoasetofenon’un bazik ortamdaki reaksiyonuyla hazırlandı) ile metakriloil klorürün 0-5oC’de ki reaksiyonuyla sentezlendi. NBBM monomerinin homopolimerizasyonu ve metil metakrilat (MMA) ile kopolimerizasyonu serbest radikalik polimerizasyon yöntemi ile başlatıcı olarak azobisizobütironitril (AIBN) kullanılarak, 1,4-dioxan:THF çözeltisi içerisinde 70°C’de gerçekleştirildi. Homopolimer ve kopolimerlerin yapıları FT-IR, 1H-NMR ve 13C-NMR teknikleriyle karakterize edildi. Kopolimerlerin bileşimi, 1H-NMR spekturumlarından tayin edildi. Polimerlerin ortalama molekül ağırlıkları GPC ölçümleriyle belirlendi. Monomer reaktivite oranları, Kelen-Tüdös (K-T) ve Finemann–Ross (F-R) metodlarında kullanılan genel kopolimerizasyon eşitliğine göre hesaplandı. Kopolimer bileşimlerinin termal davranış üzerine etkisi diferansiyel taramalı kalorimetri (DSC) ve termogravimetrik analiz (TGA) metodlarıyla çalışıldı.
In this study, a new methacrylamide monomer, N-[2-(4-bromo-benzoyl)-benzofuran-3-yl]-2-methacrylamide (NBBM) was synthesized by the reaction of (3-Amino-benzofuran-2-yl)-(4-bromophenyl)methanone (which was synthesized by the reaction of 2-cyanophenol with 2,4-dibromoacetophenone under basic conditions) with methacryloylchloride at 0-5oC temperature. The homopolymerization of NBBM and its copolymerization with methylmethacrylate (MMA) were carried out by free radical polymerization in 1,4-dioxane:THF solution at 70°C using azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator. The structure of homo and copolymers was characterized by FT-IR, 1H and13C-NMR techniques. The composition of the copolymers was calculated by 1H-NMR spectra. The average-molecular weight of the polymers were investigated by Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC). The monomer reactivity ratios were calculated according to the general copolymerization equation using Kelen-Tüdõs ( K-T) and Finemann–Ross (F-R) linearization methods. The effect of copolymer compositions on their thermal behavior were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) methods.
