Primer Sjögren Sendromunda Atopik Durumun Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Giriş: Çeşitli otoimmün hastalıklarda atopi prevalansı çeşitli çalışmalarda araştırılmıştır. Ancak primer Sjögren’in sendromu (pSS) hastalarındaki atopik durum henüz değerlendirilmemiştir. PSS ve atopi arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeyi amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntem: PSS tanısı almış elli erişkin hasta ve elli yaş ve cinsiyet uyumlu kontroller prospektif olarak bu çalışmaya alındı ve pSS hastaları laboratuvar testleri ve hastalık aktivite skoru ile değerlendirildi. Tüm katılımcılara standart inhalen panel ile deri prik testi uygulandı. Bulgular: PSS grubunda 10 hastada (10/50, %20) ve kontrol grubunda beş hastada (6/50, %12) deri prik testi pozitif bulundu (p = 0.267). Atopik ve atopik olmayan pSS hastaları arasında klinik özellikler açısından anlamlı fark bulunmadı. Sonuç: PSS hastalarında atopik durum ve alerjen duyarlılığı değerlendirildi. Literatür bilgimize göre, pSS hastalarında inhale alerjen spektrumunu araştıran ilk çalışmadır. Atopi prevalansı pSS'li hastalarda kontrollere benzer bulundu. Ancak atopi, pSS'nin ılımlı klinik bulgular ile ilişkili olabilir.

EVALUATION OF ATOPIC STATUS IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY SJOGREN’S SYNDROME

Abstract

Purpose: The prevalence of atopy has been investigated in different autoimmune diseases in various studies. But, the atopic status in primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) patients has not been evaluated yet. We aimed to determine the relationship between pSS and atopy. Material and Method: Fifty consecutive adult patients with pSS and fifty age and sex-matched controls were prospectively recruited in this study pSS patients were evaluated with laboratory tests and disease activity score. All subjects underwent skin prick test to a standard panel of common aeroallergens. Results: Ten patients (10/50, 20%) in the pSS group and five patients (6/50, 12%) in the control group had positivity on skin prick tests with common inhalant allergens (p=0.267). No significant differences were found regarding the clinical characteristics between atopic and non-atopic pSS patients. Conclusions: Atopic status and allergen sensitization were evaluated in pSS patients. To our knowledge, this is the first study investigating the inhalen allergen spectrum in pSS patients. The prevalence of atopy is similar in patients with pSS to the controls. But atopy may be related to milder clinical manifestations of pSS.
