Letter to the Editor: Retrospective Determination of Hospital Gestational Diabetes Prevalence and the Risk of Developing Type 2 Diabetes
Abstract
This letter to the editor evaluates the study by Doğan et al. regarding hospital-based gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) prevalence and postpartum type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) risk. While commending the study for providing valuable real-world data, this commentary highlights several methodological considerations to refine the interpretation of the findings. Addressing these aspects in future multi-center studies will strengthen standardized postpartum screening protocols and advance targeted preventive care for high-risk women.
