Is Isolated GGT Elevation a sign of pancreatic cancer?

Abstract

SUMMARY

GGT (gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase)is a biochemical test that is used to diagnose and treat liver diseases and gives information about liver functions. It is a sensitive and specific test that firstly ascends in alcoholic liver disorders.GTT can be measured as high in different situations. A 72-year-old female patient was diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma due to isolated GGT elevation. The patients with isolated GGT elevation should be followed up seriously and their treatment should be made absolutely.

İZOLE GGT YÜKSEKLİĞİ PANKREAS KANSERİ BELİRTİSİ MİDİR?

Abstract

ÖZET

GGT (gama glutamil transpeptidaz) özellikle karaciğer hastalıklarının teşhis ve tedavisinde kullanılan, karaciğer fonksiyonları hakkında bilgi veren bir biyokimyasal testtir. Alkolik karaciğer bozukluklarında ilk önce yükselen duyarlı ve spesifik testtir. GTT farklı durumlarda yüksek değerlerde çıkabilmektedir.  72 yaşında bir bayan hastada izole GGT yüksekliği nedeniyle yapılan tetkiklerde pankreas adenokarsinomuna rastlanılmıştır. İzole GGT yüksekliği tespit edilen hastalar ciddiyetle takip edilmeli teşhisleri mutlaka konulmalıdır.
