Aim & Scope

Journal of African Research aims to publish original academic studies that examine the political, economic, social, cultural, and historical issues of the African continent through an interdisciplinary perspective. The journal seeks to contribute to the field both theoretically and practically by scientifically analyzing the relationships between African countries and other regions of the world. It also aims to promote national and international academic collaboration in African Studies, thereby contributing to knowledge production and scholarly debate.

Journal of African Research encompasses scholarly research produced across a wide range of disciplines, including politics, international relations, security studies, economics, history, sociology, anthropology, law, public administration, development studies, migration, environmental studies, education, culture, and religion, all related to the African continent. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, and book reviews that examine the internal dynamics of African countries, their relations with regional and global actors, contemporary developments on the continent, and comparative analyses. In addition, it encourages the submission of both theoretical and empirical studies addressing Türkiye–Africa relations and Africa’s role in regional and global politics.
