Bariatrik Cerrahi Alanında Son 10 Yılda Yayınlanmış Hemşirelik Araştırmalarının Bibliyometrik Analizi: Tanımlayıcı Bir Çalışma

Year 2025, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 10 - 19, 18.04.2025

Abstract

Amaç
Bu çalışma, bariatrik cerrahi alanında hemşirelik araştırmalarına ilişkin bibliyometrik analiz ile kavramsal gelişimi ortaya koymayı, içerik ve araştırma eğilimlerini belirlemeyi amaçlamıştır.
Yöntem
Çalışmada tanımlayıcı bibliyometrik araştırma tasarımı kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın taraması, Web of Science veri tabanında, 2015-2024 yıl sınırlaması yapılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir.

Bibliometric Analysis of Nursing Research Published in the Last 10 Years in the Field of Bariatric Surgery: A Descriptive Study

Year 2025, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 10 - 19, 18.04.2025

Abstract

Aim
This study aimed to conduct bibliometric analysis of nursing research in bariatric surgery, revealing conceptual developments and research trends.
Method
A descriptive bibliometric research design was applied. The screening of the study was carried out in the Web of Science database with a year limitation of 2015-2024. The keywords “bariatric surgery” and “nurse” were used in the search. The analysis was performed using the VOSviewer program. Gray literature, books, and book chapters were excluded. Variables analyzed included publication and citation years, journal distribution, research areas, countries, co-authorship, co-citation, and co-occurrence keywords patterns. The STROBE reporting checklist was followed in the study.
Results
A total of 112 articles were analyzed. It was observed that the most published and cited journal was Obesity Surgery and the country with the highest number of articles published in this field was the United States of America. Frequently used keywords included “bariatric surgery”, “obesity”, “nurse”, “nursing”, and “perioperative care”. Publication activity peaked in 2020, while citations were highest in 2024. The research predominantly addressed “Improving Health and Well-being”, focusing on bariatric surgery, postoperative processes, and nursing concepts.
Conclusion
Based on the results of this study evaluating nursing research in the field of bariatric surgery, it is recommended to plan new nursing studies focusing on less-explored areas, such as patient education and the preoperative and intraoperative processes in bariatric surgery.
