Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Ahi Evran Agricultural Sciences (JAHAS) supports the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and provides immediate, free, and unrestricted access to all published articles. All articles published in the journal are freely available for reading and downloading by anyone.

According to the Budapest Open Access Initiative, open access means that scholarly literature is freely available on the Internet, permitting users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, index, transfer as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose without financial, legal, or technical barriers, provided that authorship is properly acknowledged.

Articles published in the Journal of Ahi Evran Agricultural Sciences may be used without obtaining permission from either the authors or the publisher, provided that appropriate citation is given to the original authors and source.


Ethics Policy

The Journal of Ahi Evran Agricultural Sciences adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices and the International Standards for Editors and Authors. Accordingly, the journal expects its authors, editors, and reviewers to comply with the following ethical responsibilities.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

  • Research must be conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles and legal regulations.
  • Research findings must be reported accurately without fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or inappropriate data presentation.
  • The research methodology should be described clearly and transparently.
  • Authors must declare that the manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • All authors must accept joint responsibility for the submitted manuscript.
  • All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research.
  • The corresponding author must disclose all sources of financial support and any potential conflicts of interest.
  • All clinical studies must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
  • Informed consent must be obtained from all participants involved in the research, and this information should be stated in the Materials and Methods section.
  • Animal experiments must comply with the principles of the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
  • Where applicable, the name of the ethics committee together with the approval number and date must be provided.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for all material published in the journal.
  • Editors should ensure that manuscripts undergo a fair, impartial, and appropriate peer-review process.
  • Editors should maintain a transparent, honest, and ethical editorial policy.
  • Editors should preserve the integrity of the scholarly record by issuing corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other editorial notices whenever necessary.
  • Editors should investigate and respond appropriately to any suspected misconduct involving reviewers, editors, or authors.
  • Editors should critically evaluate the ethical aspects of research involving human participants or animals.
  • Editors should clearly communicate editorial expectations to both reviewers and authors.
  • Editors should establish and implement appropriate policies for managing conflicts of interest.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively within their area of expertise and in accordance with the aims and scope of the journal.
  • Reviewers should provide accurate information regarding their identity, contact details, and areas of expertise.
  • If reviewers are unable to complete a review, they should promptly inform the editor before the review deadline expires.
  • Reviewers may decline an invitation if they believe they cannot complete the review within the allotted time.
  • Before beginning the review process, reviewers should carefully read the manuscript and familiarize themselves with the journal's editorial policies.
  • Reviewers must not communicate directly with the authors without the permission of the Editorial Office.
  • Reviewers should not seek assistance from third parties when evaluating a manuscript without prior approval from the journal.
  • The journal follows a double-blind peer-review system to eliminate potential bias related to race, religion, ethnicity, political views, commercial interests, or gender between reviewers and authors.
  • Reviewers should complete their evaluations using the review forms provided by the journal.
  • Reviewers should provide constructive comments, suggestions, and recommendations for both the authors and the editors.
  • When recommending acceptance, revision, or rejection, reviewers are expected to provide a clear justification for their recommendation.
