SCHOOL-PARENT PARTNERSHIP: PROBLEMS, EXPECTATIONS, REQUIREMENTS, SUGGESTIONS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine school management and parents' views on school-family partnership, their difficulties, expectations, needs and suggestions. This research is realized by using the qualitative method in survey model. The study group consists of 9 administrators, 6 teachers and 10 parents in Palandöken and Yakutiye county of Erzurum determined using maximum variation sampling method. The research is a case study from the qualitative research patterns. Data collections of search is obtain from individual qualitative semi-structured interviews were conducted. A descriptive analysis method is used for the evaluation of the data. According to the study results, school-family partnership is not at the desired level; parental involvement activities are not comprehensive and sustainable; the change of the attitudes and behaviors of the administrators and the teachers to the parents and the change of the perception and value of the parents to the school will improve the school family partnership. It is also detected in the study that models providing pluralistic participation which are including all the members of school inside school-family partnership are adopted mostly.

OKUL-AİLE ORTAKLIĞI: GÜÇLÜKLER, BEKLENTİLER, GEREKSİNİMLER, ÖNERİLER

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı,
okul yönetiminin ve velilerin okul-aile ortaklığına ilişkin görüşlerini,
karşılaştıkları güçlükleri, beklentileri, gereksinimleri ve önerilerini tespit
etmektir. Araştırma tarama modelinde nitel yöntemle gerçekleştirilmiştir.  Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, amaçlı örneklem
yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik tekniği ile belirlenen Erzurum ili
Palandöken ve Yakutiye ilçelerinden 9 yönetici, 6 öğretmen ve 10 veliden
oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın deseni, nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum
çalışmasıdır. Araştırmanın nitel verileri, okul yöneticilerine, öğretmenlere ve
okul aile birliği üyelerine uygulanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla
elde edilmiştir. Elde
edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmada
okul-aile ortaklığının istenilen düzeyde olmadığı, kapsamlı ve sürdürülebilir
veli katılım çalışmalarının yapılmadığı, yönetici ve öğretmenlerin velilere
yönelik tutum ve davranışlarının değişimi ile velilerin okula yönelik algı ve
değer değişiminin okul aile işbirliğini geliştireceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Araştırmada ayrıca okul-aile ortaklığına ilişkin okul toplumunun tüm üyelerini
kapsayan, çoğulcu katılımın sağlandığı modellerin çoğunlukla benimsendiği
sonucuna varılmıştır.
