Today's economic order 'Capitalism' forces all world economies to adopt export-based industrialization strategies. Implemented foreign policies increase competition among countries. Competition based on price at the beginning turns into non-price competition at an advanced stage. The chance of success in this competition depends on the comparative advantage of the country, in other words, its competitive advantage in that production area. Competitive advantage is a value that can be measured with competitiveness. Unfortunately, there is no single and precise way to measure the international competitiveness of countries, nor is there a single index designed to measure their commercial performance. Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) is an index developed by Balassa for the purpose of measuring competitiveness and measures competitiveness according to the foreign trade goods groups. By using the RCA index, this study is carried out to compare Turkey’s competitiveness power with BRICS countries known as the 21st century's emerging economies. The findings show that Turkey captures competitive advantage towards the BRICS countries only in ‘Food and Livestock Group of Commodities’.
