Roma İmparatorluğu’nun Yıkılması ile Hristiyanlığın Kabulü Arasındaki İlişki: Felsefi Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Roma İmparatorluğu’nun çöküşü, siyasi, ekonomik, hukuki ve kültürel (bilim, felsefe ve din) etkenler açısından incelenmektedir. İmparatorluğun yıkılışı, yalnızca askeri güç kaybı veya ekonomik zayıflık gibi yüzeysel nedenlere değil, daha derin ve görünmeyen bir dinamiğe dayanmaktadır. Bu makalede, özellikle MS. 380 yılında Hristiyanlığın resmi din olarak kabul edilmesi sonrası, bürokrasinin bozulması ve dini otoritenin artmasının imparatorluk üzerindeki etkileri üzerine yoğunlaşılmaktadır. Hristiyanlık, toplumsal ve siyasi yapıları yeniden şekillendirmiş, kurumların işleyişinde değişiklikler yaratmıştır. Farklı tek nedenlerin varlığı yadsınamazken, bu nedenlerin daha güçlü bir ana neden olan Hristiyanlıktan sudür ettiği vurgulanmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, Roma İmparatorluğu’nun yıkılışı, dinin imparatorluk üzerindeki etkisinin ne olduğu ve bu etkilerin imparatorluk organlarını nasıl yapı-bozuma uğrattığı ile doğrudan ilişkilidir.

The Relationsiıp Between the Collapsibilty of the Roman Empire and the Accepting of Christianity: A Philosophical Evaluation

Abstract

This study examines the collapse of the Roman Empire from political, social, and religious perspectives. The empire’s downfall is attributed not only to superficial reasons such as military power loss or economic weakness but also to deeper, unseen dynamics. The article particularly focuses on the impact of Christianity’s acceptance as the official religion in 380 AD, highlighting the deterioration of the bureaucracy and the increasing religious authority on the empire. Christianity reshaped societal and political structures, leading to significant changes in institutional functioning. While the existence of various causes is undeniable, their relationship with a stronger primary cause—Christianity—is emphasized. Ultimately, the collapse of the Roman Empire is directly linked to the effects of religion at the societal level and how these effects transformed the organs of the empire.
