–ABSTRACT–
Man and His Values According to Ibn Khaldun

Ibn Khaldun excelled in the science of histography. Thus, his name is connected to it. His writings and theories formed an epistemological revolution in his era as they oversaw future circumstances for a new emergence of a novel civilization. His monotheistic theological background and his references, the Qur'an and Sunnah (the prophetic tradition) had assisted him in his efforts. His image of human nature focused on the psychological and epistemological factors. In addition, he paid attention to the concept of human instinct throughout all its levels, as well as the humanitarian impulse to gather and cooperate in order to achieve worldly and eschatological interests. Moreover, he referred to the impact of values on human behavior on individual and collective levels. He also referred to decadence as according to the Qur'an; noting its devastating effects on man and civilization, as it is considered a source of all kinds of corruption. Religion was significant to him. He indicated the role of religion in the advancement and revival of nations. He warned against sectarianism and its impact on religious trends and cautioned against deviant Sufism. On the other hand he encouraged authentic Sufism. The Muslim nation needs his thoughts on this subject as it still requires more research and clarification regarding many aspects of it. It is important to take advantage of it and activate it in order to find solutions for existing problems that are increasingly exacerbated by the passage of time.

أبدع ابن خلدون علم العمران البشريّ فارتبط به، وكان ثورة معرفيّة تجاوز بها الرجل عصره، ونظّر لعصور لاحقة لتكون بحوثه أسس لانطلاق دورة حضاريّة جديدة. ساعده في ذلك خلفيّته العقديّة التوحيديّة، ومرجعيّته المتمثّلة في الوحي قرآنا وسنّة، وقد ركّز في تصوّره للطبيعة الإنسانيّة على العوامل النفسيّة والمعرفيّة منه، موظّفا في ذلك مفهوم الفطرة في مستوياتها المختلفة، ثمّ الدافع الإنسانيّ على الاجتماع والتعاون لتحقيق المصلحة الدنيويّة والأخرويّة، وتأثير القيم في السلوك الفردي والجماعيّ، دون إهمال إشارته إلى الترف وفق نظرة قرآنيّة بحت مبيّنا آثاره المدمّرة للإنسان والحضارة، إذ يعتبره مصدرا لكلّ ألوان الترف والفساد. وللفكرة الدينيّة أهميّتها عنده وبيان دور الدين في نهوض الأمم وانبعاثها من جديد، وتصدّيه للطرقيّة أو الصوفيّة المنحرفة، وتشجيعه للتصوّف السنيّ لنخلص إلى حاجة الأمّة إلى هذا الفكر الخصب، والذي لا يزال بكرا في جوانب كثيرة منه للإفادة منه بإحيائه وتفعيله لإيجاد حلول المشاكل القائمة والتي تزداد تفاقما بمرور الزمان.
