Türkiye'de Acil Servislerde Aşırı Kalabalıklık

Abstract

Acil servislerde kalabalıklık (yoğunluk) dünya çapında önemli bir sorun olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Acil servislere yapılan ziyaret sayısı giderek artmakta ve bu sorun hem Türkiye'de hem de dünyada önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunu haline gelmiştir. Acil serviste kalabalıklık (yoğunluk), artan iş yükü, personellerde sıkıntı ve tükenmişliğe neden olması, acil servis sağlık personelinin ve hastaların memnuniyetinin azalması, acil bakıma en çok ihtiyaç duyan hastaların tedavisinde gecikme, bakım kalitesinin düşmesi ve sağlık maliyetinin artması gibi birçok olumsuz sonuçla ilişkilidir.Bu nedenle, Türkiye'deki acil servis kalabalıklığı sorununu ele almak acil bir ihtiyaç haline gelmiştir. Bu mektupta acil servis kalabalıklığını azaltmak için etkili çözümler tartışılmıştır.

Emergency Department Overcrowding in Türkiye

Abstract

Overcrowding in Emergency Departments (EDs) is a significant concern worldwide. The number of ED visits is increasing, and this problem has become an important public health problem both in Turkey and in the world. ED overcrowding is associated with many negative consequences, including increased workload, caused staff distress and burnout, decreased satisfaction of ED healthcare staff and patients, delay in treatment of patients most in need of emergency care, decreased quality of care, and increased healthcare cost. Therefore, there is an urgent need to address ED overcrowding in Turkey. The effectice solutions were discussed in this letter.
