Abstract

Katılımcıların %90.3’'ü stresi, %73.9’u doğum korkusunu, %70.9’u doğum süresini, %73.1’i sezeryan oranını, %76.1’i doğumda kullanılan analjeziyi, %78.4’ü indüksiyonu azaltmada etkili olduğunu düşünmektedir. Öğrencilerin %91’i yoganın gebenin doğumda nefesi doğru kullanmasında, %88.1’i gebenin öz yeterliliğini ve %73.9’u anne bebek iletişimini arttırmada etkili olduğunu düşünmektedir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin %59’u yenidoğanın APGAR skorunu yükseltmede etkili olduğunu düşünmektedir. Öğrencilerin %50’si yoganın maliyetli olduğunu ve %47’si yogayı gebenin kendi başına uygulayamayacağını düşünmektedir. Dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin gebelikte yoganın faydalı olduğunu düşünme oranı 3. sınıf öğrencilerinden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde yüksektir (p<0.05).
Sonuçlar: Araştırmada ebelik öğrencilerinin yoganın gebelik, doğum ve doğum sonu maternal faydaları hakkında yeterince bilgi sahibi olduğu, fetal sağlığa faydaları hakkında yeterince bilgi sahibi olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Year 2024, Volume: 5 Issue: 3, 220 - 225, 31.12.2024

Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge and opinions of midwifery students about yoga.
Methods: The research was conducted with 134 students in the midwifery department of a university between 15-30 March 2022. Data were collected with personal information and yoga knowledge level form developed by the researcher.
Results: 59% of the students are fourth grade students. 86.6% of the students reported that yoga was beneficial during pregnancy. 90.3% of the participants thought that it was effective in reducing stress, 73.9% in reducing fear of childbirth, 70.9% in reducing the duration of childbirth, 73.1% in reducing the cesarean section rate, 76.1% in reducing analgesia used during childbirth, and 78.4% in reducing induction. 91% of the students think that yoga is effective in helping pregnant women use their breathing correctly during birth, 88.1% in increasing their self-sufficiency, and 73.9% in increasing mother-baby communication. Additionally, 59% of the students think that it is effective in increasing the newborn's APGAR score. 50% of the students think that yoga is costly and 47% think that the pregnant woman cannot practice yoga on her own. The rate of fourth grade students thinking that yoga is beneficial during pregnancy is statistically significantly higher than that of third grade students (p<0.05).
Conclusion: It was determined that midwifery students had enough information about the maternal benefits of yoga during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, but did not have enough information about its benefits for fetal health.
