A long term follow up of total synovectomy procedure for TBC synovitis of the knee joint

Abstract

In this study attempts have been made to investigate late results of 87 cases on whom synovectomy was performed due to tuberculosis between l975 and l985 in the Department of Orthropaedics and Travmatology at the Istanbul Medical Faculty of the Istanbul University. The relalitonships of the patients, the time of onset of the disease, the severity of pathology present in the jonints during operation and postoperative treatment are compared and evaluated under the light of literature.
