Medical treatment of osteoarthritis

Abstract

Although easily given medical treatment in osteoarthritis only provides some relief from symptoms, it must be combined with Iimitation of patient's activities, exersices and weight reduction in obese pateients In medical, treatment of osteoarthritis NSAIDs are preferred to analgesics. Application of intraarticular steroids is of uncetain value. New measures Iike Orgotein, Yttrium 90 synovectomy, chondroprotective treatment require further controlled studies.
