Knee prosthesis

Abstract

The knee is a complex joint with movements en three separate planes and with the stabilizing soft tissues around it. Knee prosthesis is indicated for poinful joints due to rheumatoid arhritis, osteoarthritis, posttraumatic arthritis, failure in high tibial osteotomy and patellofemoral osteoarthritis. Most of the currently preferred prostheses are tricompartmental semiconstrained prostheses. In all the complications infection is the most devastating Iocal complication, and Ioosening of the polyethylene tibial component is the most common cause of failure in the unconstrained and semiconstrained types of prostheses.

Diz protezi romatoid artrit, osteoartrit, posttravmatik artrit, yüksek tibia osteotomisinde başarısızlık ve patelIofemoral artroza bağlı ağrılı eklemlerde endikedir. En çok tercih edilen protezler üç bölmeli yan bağlantılı protezlerdir . Tüm komplikasyonlar arasında infeksiyon en kötü yerel komplikasyondur. Polietilen tibia parçasının gevşemesi bağlantısız ve yarı bağlantılı protezlerde en sık rastalanılan başarısızlık nedenidir .
