Yenidoğan pes ekinovarus: konservatif mi? Cerrahi mi?

Abstract

SSK İstanbul Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği'nde l989 yılında 12 yenidoğanın 21 ayağında tespit ettiğimiz PEV deformitesine doğumlarının 6. haftasında Porter'ın krıtlerleri ve bizim ilave iki kriterimizle cerrahi girişim endikasyonu koydu, fakat konservatif tedaviye devam ettik. Bunlardan l8'inde düzelme olmadı ve cerrahi tedaviye geçildi. Üç olguda deformite düzeldi. Sonuçta yenidoğan PEV'unun konservatif tedavi ile düzeIebilenler ve cerrahi girişimi gerektirenler olmak üzere iki ayn popülasyon olduğu yolunda Porter'ın fikirlerine katıldık. Cerrahi girişimi gerektiren popülasyonun tespitinde Porter'ın kriterleri ve bizim ilave iki kriterimizIe, bizim serimizdeki başarı oranı %86'dır.

Talipes Equinovarus in newborn is it conservative or surgical?

Abstract

In 1989 at SSK Istanbul Hospiltal Orthopaedics and Traumatology clinic, we have confirmed talipes equinovarus deformity in twentyone feet of l2 newborns, by six weeks of age surgical approach indication according to Porter's and our two additional criteria was approved, but we haue maintained the conservative treatment. ln 18 of these feet, correction was not obtained and surgery was indicated. In 3 feet the deformity resolved. As a result we agree with Porter who divide talipes equinavarus into two types; the ones which could be corrected by conservative means and the other ones at which surgical approach are indicated. In confirming the populatıon at which surgical approach is necessery, with Porter's and our two additional criteria, the succes rate of our series is 86 percent.
