Applications and results of innominate osteotomy of Salter in treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip

Abstract

One hundred-four children (136 hips) with congenital disiocation of the hip were treated with Salter’s innominate osteotomy, aged between 1.5 and 7 years. One hundred hips (86 patients) form the basis of this report. Follow-up ranged from 6 to 113 months with a mean of 43.6 months. The clinical results revealed that 85.0 per cent, good to excellent; 10.0 per cent, fair; and 5.0 per cent, poor. The roentgenographic results revealed that 69.0 per cent of the patients has good to excellent: 23.0 per cent, fair; and 8. 0 per cent, poor.
