Abstract
The cases of nine fractures of the intercondylar eminence of the tibia were reviewed at a mean of 4. 6 years, (range, 2 to 9 years) after treatment. There were five acute and four chronic cases. Their ages were 7-49 years, mean 29.3 years. There were three type II, and six type III fractures. Adult fractures were frequently associated with other osseous or sott tissue lesions. The cases were treated either conservatively or sorgically. There were 1 excellent, 2 good, 4 fair, and 2 poor results according to the Lysholm scoring scale. 6 cases showed varying degrees of pivot shift phenomena. Preinjury Tegner activity levels of mean 5.4 (range, 2-9) were mean 3.8 (2-7) at the last follow up. 4 patients had to decrease their activity levels by 2-7 points. Radiographic examination revealed nonunion in 4 cases.
Despite favorable treatment and radiographic union, the prognosis of the fractures of the intercondylar eminence may not be always good.

5’i akut, 4’ü kronik dönemde başvuran ve yaşları 7-49, ortalama 29.3 yaş olan 9 eminentia interkondilaris kırığı olgusu 2-9 yıl, ortalama 4.6 yıl sonra değerlendirildi. Kırıklar üç olguda tip II, 6 olguda tip III idi. Erişkin eminentia kırıklarında aynı dizde ek kemik ve yumuşak doku lezyonları sıktı. Değişik tedavilerin uygulandığı bu hastalarla ilgili ayrı ayrı detaylı bilgiler verildi.
Lysholm skalasına göre 1 olgu mükemmel. 2 olgu iyi, 4 olgu orta. 2 olgu kötü olarak değerlendirildi. 6 olguda pivot shift testleri değişen derecelerde pozitif idi. Yaralanma öncesi ortalama 5.4 (2-9) olan Tegner aktivite düzeyIeri son kontrolde ortalama 3.8 (2-7) idi. Toplam 4 olgunun aktivite düzeyinde 2-7° arası düşüşler olmuştu. Radyografik olarak 4 olguda kaynama saptandı. Uygun tedavi seçimine ve radyografik olarak tam kaynama elde edilmesine rağmen eminentia kırıklarının prognozunun her zaman iyi olmayabileceği sonucuna varıldı.
