The resuts of surgical treatment of fractures of the olecranon

Abstract

Various operation technics are used in the treatment of dislocated fractures of olecranon in order to restorate extension power, to obtain stability and to prevent joint stiffness. 38 cases with fractures of olecranon were treated in the Department of Orthopaedics and Travmatology of Haseki Hospital from 1982 to December 1989. 27 cases who have undislocated fractures of olecranon were treated with conservative measures, other 11 cases were dislocated fractures of olecranon and were surgically treated. Clinical results of 9 cases whose average duratin of folIow-up is 15.5 months (range 3 months to 6 years) were reviewed. The mean amount of extension deficiency was 13º, and of flex;on deficiency was 5º.

Olekranon kırıklarında cerrahi tedavi sonuçlarımız

Öz

Dirsek ekstansiyon gücünün restorasyonu, stabilitenin sağlanması ve redör oluşumunun önlenebilmesi açılarından disloke olekranon kırıkları çeşitli teknikler kullanılarak ameliyat edilmektedir. 1982-1989 Aralık sonuna kadar polikliniğimize 38 tane olekranon kırıklı hasta müracaat etti. Disloke olmayan 27 adedi konservatif yöntemlerle tedavi edildi. Disloke olan 11 adedi ise operatif yöntemlerle tedavi edildi. En az 3 ay, en uzun 6 yıl ortalama 15.5 ay izlenen 9 hasta bu çalışmamızın kapsamına alındı. 9 olguda dirsekte ortalama 13° ekstansiyon, 5 fleksiyon kaybı saptandı.
