Abstract

53 patellar fractures treated by different surgical methods were reviewed retrospectively, approximately 3. 7 years after the operation and the resufts were assessed both subjectively and objectiveif. Of the 53 patients 40% had a good result as well as 30% poor result On the whole total pateilectomy produced better result (60% good) as compared with internal fixation (45% good) and partial patellectomy (26% good) by taking in mind the reverse effects of the total patellectomy on the quadriceps power, it was suggested to have better results by total patellectomy, when performed on less comminuted fractures and associated with active rehabilitation programme.

Öz

Değişik cerrahi tekniklerle tedavi edilen 53 patella kırığı ortalama 3. 7 yıl sonra incelendi ve sonuçları objektif ve subjektif olarak değerlendirildi 53 hastanın %40'ında iyi sonuç elde edilirken %30'unda kötü sonuç elde edilmiştir. Genelde total patellektomi (%60 iyi sonuç). internal fiksasyon (%45 iyi sonuç) ve parsiyel patellektomide (%26 iyi sonuç) daha iyi sonuçlar vermişti. Total patellektominin quadriseps gücü üzerindeki ters etkilerini akılda tutarak daha az parçalı kırıklara uygulandığında ve aktif bir rehabilitasyon programı ile birleştirildiğinde total patellektomi ile daha iyi sonuçlar alınabileceği düşünüldü.
