Abstract

In cases of congenital hip dislocation who have reached the adult age and present with a limitation of abduction, Iurch and pain, where the hip is irreducible and no procedures of arthroplasty can be performed, supporting osteotomies are one of the preferred procedures as a paliative treatment. In this study, long term results of Schanz osteotomy are evaluated, which were performed on cases of posterior dislocation without any support at all it has been noticed that this procedure had positive effects on limitation of abduction, pain, lurch and increased lomber lordosis in 69 hips of 4 7 controlled cases.
