The surgical treatment of subtrochanteric fractures of femur with Zickel II nail

Abstract

27 patients with subtrochanteric fractures of femur, who have been admitted to the Depar1ment of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of SSK Goztepe Hospital between the years 1989-1991, have been treated by open reduction and internal fixation with Zickel ll nail. The cases have been followed for a mean period of 16 months (minimum 3 months, maximum 29 months). 26 cases who had been presented at the final control were assessed anatomically and functionally. It has been concluded that the Zickelll Nail, prevents complications such as implant failure, varus malunion: nonunion, Ieg Iength discrepancy and delayed weight bearing, especially in subtrochanteric fractures of femur that have posteromedial cortical defect.

Femur subtrokanterik bölge kırıklarının Zickel-II çivisi ile cerrahi tedavisi

Öz

SSK Göztepe Hastanesi 1. Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Servisinde 1989 ile 1991 yılları arasında femur subtrokanterik bölge kırığı tanısıyla tedavi edilen 27 hasta açık redüksiyon ve Zickelll çivisiyle cerrahi olarak tedavi edilmiştir. Olgular en az 3, en fazla 29, ortalama 16 ay izlenmişlerdir. Son kontrola gelen 26 hasta değerlendirmiştir. Zickelll çivisinin, posteromedial kortikal devamlılığın olmadığı subtrokanterik kırıklarda, internal tespit yetersizliği, varusta hatalı kaynama, kısalık, kaynamama ve geç ağırlık verebilme gibi komplikasyonları önIediği görülmüştür.
