Lateral cystic discold meniscus

Abstract

7 patients with lateral discoid meniscus had been treated surgically in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty between October 1991 anc April 1992. In 3 of these patients the Iesions were on the Ieft side and in 4 of them on the right. CT scans were obtained for all of the patients. The diagnosis of Iateral cystic discoid meniscus was confirmed during their operations for these 7 patients. In 3 of the patients the type of the discoid meniscus was complete and in 4 of them incomplete. The diameters of the Iargest cyst were 38x63 mm. Additional meniscal tears were detected in of the cases. AII of these tears were in horizontal clivage type. Total meniscectomy with the cyst was performed for 3 patients and paltial meniscectomy with decompression of the cyst was performed for 4 patients. In the Iatest post-operative controlls patients had no complaints and no abnormality was found ciinically.

Lateral kistik diskoid meniskus

Öz

Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Anabilim Dalı'nda Ekim 1991 ile Nisan 1992 tarihleri arasında lateral kistik diskoid meniskus teşhis edilen 7 hasta ameliyat edilerek tedavi edilmiştir. Lezyon 4 hastada solda 3 hastada sağdadır. Ortalama takip 9 ay olup en kısa 6, en uzun 12 aydır. Hastaların hepsine BT inceleme yapılmıştır. 7 olgunun ameliyatında lateral kistik diskoid meniskus teşhis edilmiş, 3'ünün komplet 4'ünün inkomplet tipte olduğu saptanmıştır. En büyük kistin çapları 38x63 mm olup 4 olguda ayrıca meniskuste yırtık saptanmıştır. 4 yırtık da horizontal klivaj tarzında idi. Üç hastaya kist ile birlikte total menisektomi, 4 olguya ise parsiyel menisektomi ile birlikte kist dekompresyonu uygulandı. Postop son kontrollarında hastaların hiç bir şikayeti yoktu ve klinik olarak bir bulgu saptanmadı.
