A new histological approach in differential diagnosis of chondroid tumors

Abstract

The distinction between enchondroma and low-grade central chondrosarcoma of the bones is a controversial issue in bone pathology. There are clinical radiologic and histopathologic approaches. Forty-nine cases of enchondroma and 50 cases of chondrosarcoma are rewieved according to Mirra s histological criteria. Clinical correlations of these cases are investigated. These criteria are thought to be helpful in the differential diagnosis of enchondroma and grade I chondrosarcoma.
