Reason of pain in postnucleotomy syndrome and its treatment

Abstract

Cause of postnucleotomy syndrome: Instability and loss of height in the intervertebral segment caused by removel of disk tissue and, adhesions of surrounding tissues. Pain is seen in 10% of patrent after diskottomy operation. Most of these patients have a few complaints However we fount that 1/3 of these patients, had disability and could not return to work In this study clinical and radiological evaluation of treated 103 patient with postnucleotomy syndrome is reported 71 of patients had symptoms when they do heavy work 27 of patients had persistant pain end had to take enclgesies 5 of patients following repeated disk operations had severe disability and was unable to sit, stand or lie doun confortably. Important factor for prevention of postnucleotomy syndrome, is correct indication for open nucleotomy. Alternative methods such as percutaneus nucleotomy, chemonucleolysis, laser when avorable can be prefored.

Postnukleotomi sendromunda ağrı nedenleri ve tedavisi

Öz

Postnukleotomi sendromu ve diskotomi yapılan olguların %10'unda görülür. Büyük çoğunluğunda yakınmalar az olmakla beraber hastalarımızın 1/3'ünde iş göremezliğe ve maluliyete neden olan bulgular saptadık. Bu çalışmada postnukleotomi sendromu tanısıyla tedavi ettiğimiz 103 olgunun klinik ve radyolojik değerlendirmelerini sunduk Postnukleotomi sendromunu azaltmak için indikasyonun çok dikkatli konulması gerekir. Kanlı girişime alternatif olan yöntemler eğer indikasyon yönünden uygunsa tercih edilmelidir
