A case of splnal hydatld cyst

Abstract

We present a case which was thought to be and treated as vertebral hydatid cyst and also admitted to Orthopaedic and Traumatology Clinic of Vakıf Gureba Hospital in Istanbul. In clinic examination we noticed areflexia at the Ieft Iower extremity, hiporeflexia at the rignt Iower extremity, Ioss of motor power at both Iower extremities. In radiological examination the Iesion was Iocalized to L 1 , 2, 3. The patient was treated by two step surgical procedure. Anterior partial removal and total evacuation of the cyst were followed by Harrington spinal instrumentation and mebenzole therapy. The patient showed recovery without complication till now.
