Local resections in soft sarcomas of the extremities

Abstract

It s known that, in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas of the extremities, there is no difference between amputation and Iimb saving surgery together with adjuvant therapy in respect to Iiving without illness and survival period. We performed Iocal resection in 14 patients who didn t have distant metastasis and stay inside the compartment which were able to be resected Iocally. The Iongest follow up period was 28 months, the shortest was 9 months, mean follow up was 17 months. For the patients who applied to our clinic primarily we used rsdiotherapy and chemotherapy following biopsy and then we performed Iocal resection. Four patients were treated only one of them has metastasis.

Ekstremite yumuşak doku arkomlarında lokal rezeksiyonlar

Öz

Ekstremiteye yerleşmiş yumuşak doku sarkomlarının tedavisinde, hastalıksız sağ kalım ve yaşamsüresi açısından amputasyon ile adjuvan tedaviyle birlikte yapılan ekstremite koruyucu girişimler arasında bir fark olmadığı bilinmektedir. Uzak metastazı olmayan ve kompartman içinde kalıp cerrahi olarak tamamen çıkarılabilecek durumda olan 14 vakaya Iokal rezeksiyon uyguladık. En uzun takip süresi 28 ay, en kısa takip süresi 9 ay ortalama takip süresi 17 aydır. İlk olarak bize başvurmuş olan beş hastaya biopsiyi takiben radyoterapi ve kemoterapi uygulanmıştır. Dört hastaya muhtelif kombinasyonlar uygulanırken, beş hastaya yalnızca cerrahi uygulanmıştır. Hastalarımızın hepsi sağdır, yalnızca birinde uzak metastaz tespit edilmiştir.
