Treatment of subtrochanteric fractures with 95° AO condylar plate

Abstract

We reviewed the results of 17 patients treated for subtrochanteric fractures using 95 degree AO condylar plate in Taksim State Hospital between January 1987 and December 1989 with an average follow-up of 11 months. We obtained a union rate of 87.5 %. The average Harris hip rating score was found to be 68.17. As a result of this study, we concluded 95° AO condylar plate is a reliable implant for most of the subtrochanteric fractures if applied with care to technical details.
