Abstract

Distally-based fasciocutaneous flaps from sural region were used to reconstruct defects around the lower third of the leg, the ankle, and the foot in three patients. Successful soft tissue coverage was achieved in all patient. The results show that this flap can be used as a reliable alternative to the other flaps to repair defects around the lower third of the leg, the ankle, and the foot.
