Ibn-i Sina anterior spinal instrumentation in thoracal and lumbar vertebrae instabilities

Abstract

Ibn-i Sina anterior spinal system which we have been using since February 1995 in our clinic; consists of hexagonal rods, vertebral body screws, plates and transverse connectors. Single rod application is possible in patients with intact posterior vertebral column. It can be placed in distraction and compression modes. Application is simple and not time-consuming. One high thoracic kyphotic deformity, 3 posttraumatic kyphotic deformities, 7 spinal tumors, 2 vertebral tuberculosis infections, 1 chronic nonspecific and 16 vertebral burst fractures were treated with anterior vertebral decompression and stabilization with IBNI SINA system in our clinic. The system proved itself successfully in the treatment of vertebral instabilities.
