Pollicization of the index finger by Littler's technique

Abstract

We operated a patient, who had traumatic loss of his right thumb, by Littler's pollicization technique in order to obtain functional and cosmetic results. The patient did not accept the transplantation of the first toe for the thumb before the operation. It was thought that neurovascular structures would be transferred easily and musculotendinous components were organized for good thumb function. After operation, acceptable thumb and hand function were obtained.
