Abstract

Abnormal bowing of the bones in children following trauma, interpreted as a plastic deformation of bone, is recognized in only past two decades as a clinical and radiological entity. These unusual fractures may be missed initially due to absence of typical fracture lines. Missing the diagnosis may cause permanent disability. A two and half year old boy with acute plastic bowing fracture of fibula with intact ipsilateral tibia is presented.

Abstract

Travmayı takiben ortaya çıkan kemiğin normal anatomik yapısından farklı olan eğriliğe, kemiğin plastik deformasyonu denir. Radyolojik ve klinik olarak son yirmi yılda tanınmıştır. Bu nadir görülen çocuk kırıkları, tipik kırık hattı olmaması nedeniyle teşhiste atlamalara sebep olarak kalıcı sakatlıklara yol açabilir. Biz bu çalışmada travma sonucu fibulasında akut plastik eğilme kırığı meydana gelen 2,5 yaşında bir erkek çocuğu sunduk.
