The risk factors that effect the prognosis in fractures of the hip

Abstract

There is still some controversy and problems about the treatment of hip fractures in elderly people. In addition to success of surgical technique, low postoperative morbidity and mortality rates also have to be the aim of the therapy. In elderly people whose hips are fractured, there is a high rate of postoperative mortality and medical problems. For this reason preoperative evaluation of hip fractured patients must be well recognized. There are so many "risk evaluation schedules" present in the literature to determine the postoperative prognosis. In this study "risk evaluation methods" prepared by A. S. A. (American Academy of Anesthesiologists), Miller, Kyo, Robinson, Ceder and Kenzora are reviewed.

Kalça kırıklarmda prognozu etkileyen risk faktörleri

Öz

Yaşlılarda kalça kırıklarının tedavisi hala tartışmalı ve sorunludur. Tedavide cerrahi tekniğin başarısı kadar, ameliyat sonrası düşük morbidite ve mortalite de hedeflenmelidir. Kalça kırıklı yaşlı hastalarda ame-liyat sonrası yüksek oranda ölüm ve tıbbi sorunlar görülmektedir. Kalça kırığı, yaşlıların belli başlı ölüm nedenlerinden birisidir. Bu nedenle kalça kırıklı hastaların ameliyat öncesi şartları çok iyi değerlendirilmeli-dir. Yayınlarda ameliyat sonu prognozu belirlemeye çalışan birçok "risk değerlendirme şemaları" mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologist), Miller, Kyo, Robinson, Ceder, Kenzora'nın geliş-tirmiş oldukları risk değerlendirme metodları gözden geçirilmiştir.
