Lindgren-Turan operation in the treatment of the hallux valgus

Abstract

Lindgren-Turan operation was performed on the 16 feet of 11 patients with hallux valgus between 1990 and 1997. All patients were women. The average age was 37.3 years and the mean follow up was 26 months.The evaluation of the result was made according to Mitchell criteria. According to this criteria, we obtained 6. 26 % (1/16) excellent, 87,50% (14/16) good and 6, 25% (1/16) poor results. Lindgren-Turan operation is a preferable method because this operation can improve tightness of the lateral capsule of the metatarso phalangeal joint without arthrosis, and it is technically easier in the patients whose metatarsus primus angle is lower than 14 degrees and the allow the motion of metatarsophalangeal joint postoperatively.

Hallux valgus hastalığının Lindgren-Turan yöntemi ile tedavisi

Öz

1990 ve 1997 yılları arasında kliniğimize başvuran 11 hastanın 16 hallux valguslu ayağına Turan ameli-yatı uygulandı. Hastaların tümü kadındı. Ortalama yaş 37,3 olup takip süresi ortalama 26 aydır. Ameliyat sonrası değerlendirmede Mitchell ve arkadaşlarının değerlendirme kriterleri kullanıldı. Buna göre %6, 25 (1/16) çok iyi, %87, 50 (14/16) iyi, %6, 25 (1/16) orta sonuç elde edildi. Metatarsofalangeal eklem artrozu olmayan olgularda lateral kapsuler gerginliği düzeltebilmesi, metatarsus primus varus açısı 14 derece altında olan olgularda teknik olarak kolay uygulanabilmesi ve ameliyat sonrası eklem hareketine olanak sağlaması nedeni ile hallice valguslu hastalarda Lindgren-Turan ameliyatının tercih edilebilecek bir yöntem oldu-ğu sonucuna vardık.
