Solitary cystic tuberculosis of fibula in children and its treatment

Abstract

The tuberculosis infection is still a very important problem in our country as it is on the whole world. Cystic lesions, although seen more often in children than in adults, are a rare form of tuberculosis osteomyelitis. The solitary cystic tuberculosis, observed more often in children, is known to be rare in the literature and non-existant at the fibula. In our study we have aimed to show the solitary cystic tuberculosis that has been observed at the fibula for the first time and its treatment methods.

Öz

Ülkemizde ve dünyada tüberküloz enfeksiyonu hala çok önemli bir sorun olmaya devam etmektedir. Bir veya birkaç kemikte kistik lezyonların çocuklarda erişkinlere oranla daha sık görülmesine rağmen, tüberküloz osteomyelitinin özel bir tipi olan kistik tüberküloz nadir rastlanılan bir tüberküloz, formudur. Çocuklarda daha nadir olan soliter kistik tüberküloz literatürde az sayıda bildirilmiş, fibulada ise hiç tanımlanmamıştır. Bu çalışmada çocuklarda fibulada ilk kez görülen soliter kistik tüberküloz ve uyguladığımız tedavi yönteminin bildirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
