Abstract

Symptomatic medial plica is one of the causes of anterior knee pain syndromes and fenestrated medial plica is one rare form thereof. In this report we present two male patients, aged 17 and 31 years, respectively, in whom fenestrated medial plica was documented and excised during arthroscopic evaluation for anterior knee pain resistant to conservative treatment. Complaints of the patients resolved within two weeks postoperatively; no complications were encountered at subsequent follow-up examinations.

Abstract

Semptomatik medial plika, diz önü ağrısı sendromlarından biridir. Fenestre medial plika ise, medial plika sendromunun nadir görülen bir şeklidir. Bu çalışmada, konservatif tedaviye dirençli diz önü ağrısı nedeniyle yapılan artroskopik inceleme sırasında fenestre medial plika saptanan ve cerrahi tedavisi yapılan 17 ve 31 yaşlarında iki erkek hasta sunuldu. Her iki olguda da şikayetler ameliyat sonrası ikinci haftada tamamen geçti; olguların daha sonraki takiplerinde bir problemle karşılaşılmadı.
