Intramuscular hemangioma masked by the clinical presentation of pes planus

Abstract

An eighteen year-old female patient had been receiving therapy for pes planus. Upon the persistence of her symptoms, further investigations were made by computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and a hemangioma was detected localized in the flexor digitorum brevis muscle. The mass was totally resected with a marginal excision. The patient’s complaint of pain in the right foot disappeared after surgery and during a follow-up period for 2.5 years.
