Abstract

During the past two decades, there has been a significant increase in sports participation by pediatric athletes. Spinal injuries thus have become a great concern. The unique nature of the pediatric spine should be well-recognized and low back pain in a pediatric athlete should therefore be taken seriously and evaluated thoroughly. In this review article sports-related lumbar spine problems will be covered including overuse injuries, spondylolysis, pars stress fractures, spondylolysthesis, and lumbar disc herniation. Early identification of these problems will eventually minimize these injuries.

Çocuk ve ergen sporcularda lomber yaralanmalar

Abstract

Çocukların ve ergenlik çağındaki gençlerin spor aktivitelerine katılımının son yıllarda önemli derecede artmasıyla spinal yaralanmalar da önem kazanmıştır. Çocuklar, omurgalarının büyümeye devam etmesi nedeniyle yetişkinlerden farklı sorunlarla karşılaşırlar. Bu nedenle, bu dönemlerde görülen bel ağrısı ciddiye alınmalı, ileri incelemele yöntemleriyle değerlendirilmelidir. Bu yazıda spor ile ilişkili lomber omurga sorunları (aşırı kullanım sendromu, stres kırıkları, spondilolizis, spondilolistesis, lomber disk hernisi) değerlendirilerek, yaralanmaların oluşumunun ve ilerlemesinin engellenmesi açısından erken tanı ve tedavinin önemi vurgulandı.
