The results of anterolateral instability treated by ellison procedure

Abstract

Between the years 1981-l986 in the Department of Orthopaedics and Travmatology of Gülhane Military Medical Academy and Faculty, Michell operation has been performed in 19 cases and Lapidus operation has been performed in 26 feet of 23 cases with hallux valgus. Results of the operations in two groups were evaluated and compared with each othere. We obtained % 84.3 successful results in cases which we had performed Mitchell operation. The success was % 92.3 in cases which we had performed Lapidus Operation. Our results are congrous with the literature. Lapidus operation is technically more simple and cosmeticaliy more satisfactory. It has a greater union rate on the osteolomy site. Its success rate is greater in severe cases. Because of fhese special features of the Lapidus operation, we concluded that it is more effective han Mitchell operation.

Halluks valgus tedavisinde uyguladığımız Lapidus ve Mitchell operasyonlarının karşılaştırılması

Abstract

1981-1986 yılları arasında GATA Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Ana Bilim Dalında Hallux valgus tanısı konmuş olgulardan 19 olguya Mitchell operasyonu, 23 olgunun 26 ayağına Lapidus operasyonu uygulandı. Her iki operasyon uyguladığmız grupta operasyon sonuçları değerlendirildi ve birbiriyle karşılaştırıldı. Mitchell operasyonu uyguladığmız olgularda (%84.3) başarılı sonuç, Lapidus operasyonu uyguladığmız olgularda (%92.3) başarılı sonuç alındı. Daha az teknik gereksinmeye ihtiyaç gösteren, osteotomi sahasında kaynama emniyeti daha yüksek olan kozmetik olarak daha iyi sonuç alınan ve iler olgularda başarı şansı daha yüksek olan Lapidus operasyonunun Mitchell operasyonuna göre daha etkili bir operasyon olduğu saptandı.
