Abstract

Eight consective fractures of the tibia were treated by intramedullary nailing with the curved solid nail(Lottes). All patients were walked with crutches four days after the operation and weight-bearing was allowed after four weeks by use of a PTB plaster cast. All of the closed fractures healed without malunion or infection. In all cases but one, union was showed at the distal fractures.

Abstract

Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Anabilim Dalında son 3 yıl içinde 8 tibia diafiz kırığına eğri çivilerle intramedullar fixasyon yapıldı. Hastalar ameliyattan birkaç gün sonra koltuk değnekleriyle ayağa kaldırıldı. Dört hafta sonunda PTB alçısı ile yük vermeye müsade edildi. Bütün vakalar komplikasyonsuz iyileşme gösterdi. Vakaların hiçbirinde enfeksiyona rastlanmadı. Tibia distal ucundaki bir vaka dışında diğer vakalarda sürekli bir kaynama sağlandı.
