Biomechanics of the Spine

Abstract

The columna vertebralis performes the straight posture of the trunk. Also it transmits the weight of the body from the head to the pelvis, protects the spinal cord which is the part of the central nervous system and plays an important role like to support the chest and abdominal organs. In our daily life compression, shearing, dist raction, bending and torsional forces effect the vertebral colon. But it performans the intrensic and extrensic stability. In order to unders tand diseases of the spinal colon and traumatology which are increatsing all over the world, it is necessary to research the biomechanics of the spine.
