Treatment of the congenital hip dislocation by functional reduction

Abstract

This study has been carrîed out in Department of Orthopaedic surgery of Medical Faculty of the Uludağ University, during 1982-1984. The functional reduction was appiied to 32 hips in 25 cases with congenital hip dislocations. The ages were between 6 months and 3 years. The patients were followed for the average of the 14 months. The derotation osteotomy was performed to 8 of the 32 hips. The femoral epiphysitis developed in three cases. In this article, we tried to discuss our results with the literature.
